Join our upcoming workshop: Project management made easy with Paul Muller

Are you working in a community organisation or a volunteer engaging role?
Do you have a few projects on the go, or some about to start?
Spinning lots of plates and want to keep them all moving?

Join Volunteer West’s half day workshop, facilitated by project management expert Paul Muller, to help you manage your community projects through seven steps.

Date: Monday 25 July

Time: 9am - 1pm

Location: Victoria University, Footscray

We know resources can be limited in the not-for-profit and community organisation space, so this workshop has been designed specifically with you in mind.

Paul will take you through seven steps you need to know to better manage your projects:

1. Everything, everywhere:

- Learn project basics, operations and the project lifecycle

2. Why no one cares what you think:

- Unpicking the roles of project stakeholders

3. Do more – meet less:

- Planning for meetings so you can spend more time doing

4. When to micro-manage:

- Knowing when people have capacity and how to delegate accordingly

5. Veni vidi vici:

- Status reports, risk register and issues register

6. Just say yes:

- Navigating the triple constraints of time, cost and scope to have the least impact on quality

7. The definition of insanity:

- How to learn from projects so you continue to grow in your organisation

Why should you join this workshop?

This introductory workshop is an ideal starting point if you need to contribute to or manage projects, while not necessarily being a formally trained project manager.

It is also suitable if you are considering undertaking a project in the near future and are seeking to learn and apply essential project management knowledge and skills.

Whatever you create, you need to know how to effectively and efficiently lead a diverse group of people to successfully complete your project.

Still thinking about it?

This workshop usually costs $750, but with Paul's support it is available to our network for only $100*.

*If you are a small organisation (with an annual budget of $500k or less), bursaries are available to cover the cost. Please express your interest to apply for a bursary before making a booking by emailing: events@volunteerwest.org.au
