Participatory-building Infrastructure 

Volunteer resource centres have deep community connections and strong grassroot understanding of local community needs. They are an optimum position to develop participation-building infrastructure. This includes physical facilities, staff, skills, relationships, tools and resources (both traditional and digital). 

Volunteer West were an advisory member for report as part of the National Network of Volunteer Resource Centres (NNVRC) and helped shape policy implications. 

We challenged current thinking to provide a mosaic concept of volunteering including targeting recruitment, communication and promoting volunteer support services to bring solidarity to communities. 

Thu-Tran Trang co-convened the Whittlesea Community Connections launch event in December 2020, along with speakers Ross Wyatt - Managing Director Think Impact, Alex Haynes – CEO Whittlesea Community Connections and Julia Pettet – Chairperson National Network Volunteer Resource Centres.
