WestSeed’s Community Map

This project ran from March - October 2021.

We want to show you the amazing organisations making Melbourne’s West a better, fairer, more sustainable and inclusive place to live and work.

The WestSeed Community Map encouraged community networking, collaboration, and mutual support by displaying organisations and other community groups and members in Melbourne’s West that are volunteer-run or supported by volunteers.

Click on the icons to open up each organisation’s details. To view the map by sustainable development goals or to search for a specific organisation, click on the “View in Google Maps” button below to open in a new browser.

Each marker displays the name, location, contact details and a brief description about what the organisation does. Each organisation works with volunteers and are welcome to contact one another to discuss volunteering opportunities.

Please note some organisations may be looking for volunteers at specific times for events or for volunteers with specific skillsets.

Map makers are colour coded by the local government area where the organisation works.

Some organisations do not have one address and may have a general location (e.g. Melton).

Contribution toward the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals

The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of global goals that are designed to represent a plan to create a better and more sustainable future for all. 17 interlinked goals were set in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly.

The WestSeed Community Map had nine goal areas that cover the SDGs, with some of the goal areas combined.
