Community Connection at Foodbank Victoria Through Our Empowering Women Workshop

Today, participants from our empowering women’s workshop visited Foodbank Victoria in Yarraville as part of a community learning and networking session.

The visit gave participants the opportunity to learn more about the incredible work Foodbank does to support individuals and families across Victoria, while also gaining insight into the important role volunteers play behind the scenes.

Throughout the visit, participants explored the warehouse, learned about Foodbank’s operations and heard about the many different ways volunteers contribute to supporting the community.

The experience sparked meaningful conversations, with many participants leaving inspired and expressing interest in volunteering and giving back themselves.

A heartfelt thank you to the Foodbank team, Renee, Mike, Casey and Lipine, for their warm welcome, generosity and joyful energy throughout the day.

We would also like to acknowledge the more than 450 volunteers who support Foodbank Victoria and help ensure people experiencing hardship can access essential food and supplies across the state.

Community visits like this can be a powerful way for people to build confidence, explore opportunities and feel more connected to their local community.

If you are interested in volunteering with Foodbank Victoria, you can visit their website or contact the team at volunteering@foodbankvictoria.org.au to learn more.
